Every year the Society hosts a Mineral and Gem show at the Newark Pavilion in Newark, California. Over 40 quality jewelry, mineral, gem, bead and fossil dealers display their items over the three day show (Friday - Sunday). It is considered by many to be the best Society show in Northern California - if not the entire west (Tucson excluded). Club members, sister club members and dealers fill the Pavilion's Halls with many great educational exhibits. For the eighth year running, we will have the largest display of fluorescent minerals in California thanks to the Fluorescent Mineral Society. PUBLIC TRANSIT DIRECTIONS

There are four (4) AC Transit Bus Lines which will take you to the Newark Pavilion from either the Union City or Fremont BART stations, depending on the day of the week. Current regular fare is $2.10 and the senior/disabled fare is $1.05.

AC Transit Line 251
Week Days: Every 30 Minutes, from about 6 AM to 7:30 PM
Weekends: Every Hour, from about 6 AM to 7 PM
From the Fremont BART Station Take AC Transit Route 251 - Clockwise OR Counterclockwise** **Both routes will get you there.
Off Board, Corner of Thornton Avenue & Cherry Street
Walk to Newark Pavilion (6430 Thornton Avenue)
Total Walking Time: About 2 Minutes

AC Transit Line 345
Weekends Only: Every Hour, from about 6 AM to 8 PM
From EITHER the Fremont BART Station OR Union City BART Station* *This route stops at both BART stations.
Take AC Transit Route 345 - Northbound towards New Park Mall
Off Board, Corner of Newark Boulevard & Thornton Avenue
Walk to Newark Pavilion (6430 Thornton Avenue)
Total Walking Time: About 5 Minutes

AC Transit Line 275
Week Days Only: Every 30 Minutes, from about 6:15 AM to 8:15 PM
From the Union City BART Station
Take AC Transit Route 275 - Clockwise OR Counterclockwise** **Both routes will get you there.
Off Board, Corner of Thornton Avenue & Cherry Street
Walk to Newark Pavilion (6430 Thornton Avenue)

Week Days Only: Every Hour, from about 5:30 AM to 8:45 PM

The funding for the vast majority of the Society's operating expenses is derived from the proceeds of the show. All
members are expected to particiapate in some fashion. Contact the Show Chairman for any questions.
